"Marvelous Apotheosis" features the endangered and stunning Marvelous Spatuletail hummingbird with flora from it's native Northern Peru. It is the fourth painting in my Avos Sapien series. The bees, the biggest competitor to the hummingbird for it's preferred nectar source, bowing down to the divine, a human hand elevating this glorious creature to it's rightful place to be worshiped and cared for.

Avos Sapien Series explores the relationship between humans and nature, birds in particular. I've always had a deep love and fascination with birds, who are often the first creatures to be affected our manipulations of the planet. I explore this relationship, and the juxtaposed beauties of both species.
